DeLoG/learn4dev joint learning event on Fragility, Decentralisation and Local Governance from 9th – 11th November 2015, The Hague, Netherlands

The Development Partners Network on Decentralisation and Local Governance (DeLoG) is offering a three day learning event to DeLoG members addressing the topics of Decentralisation and Local Governance (DLG) in the context of fragility. Hosted by VNG International and implemented by The Hague Academy for Local Governance, the event will provide an overview on international thinking and practical experiences regarding the nexus of decentralization, local governance and fragility.

DeLoG/learn4dev Joint Learning Event on Decentralisation and Local Governance hosted by ADB

The DeLoG/learn4dev expert group and the Asian Development Bank (ADB) are jointly organising a regional seminar on “External Support for Decentralisation Reforms and Local Governance in the Asia-Pacific: Better Performance, Higher Impact?”. The seminar will take place from 25th – 27th August 2015 in Manila, Philippines.

The joint learning event aims at enabling a structured exchange of information, experiences, lessons learnt and good practices and will provide a forum for joint learning of participants from experiences in supporting decentralised governance. The course is specifically adapted to the Asian context and focuses on the following areas:

– sector decentralisation and functional assignments
– performance and equalization grants
– social accountability and performance monitoring mechanisms
– implementation of the future Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) at the sub-national level

The event will be open to development practitioners from DeLoG member organisations and to officials from from partner country institutions.
